The a71nx is a 500mm, 50-taper production horizontal machining center. The a71nx shares the key nx family machine technologies. These include productivity, accuracy and machine reliability to the next level. To ensure that the entire a71nx work envelope can be efficiently performed, robust casting design and large roller-type linear guides are used.
The 10,000-rpm high-speed, high-power spindle features 37kW (49.6HP) of duty rated power and 512 Nm (378 ft-lbs) of duty rated torque. To deal with a wide range of ferrous, non-ferrous and hard metal applications, the stiffness and rigidity of machines support complete use of the spindle power and torque. By providing advantages in automotive and high volume part production, multiple technologies on the a71nx decrease non-cut time. Most common is the standard direct drive NC rotary table.
The tolerance of this table avoid non-cut time by decreasing 90° indexing time to just 1 second. The DD NC rotary table also holds up Makino’s innovative Inertia Active Control (IAC) system. IAC monitors B-axis motor load and predicts total fixture weight. By this way, IAC optimizes the motion acceleration and deceleration of the highly used B and Z-axis. The spindle makes full used of the duty rated torque to make start / stop responsiveness in optimal level, which leads to 20% decrease in tapping time compared to the previous model.
A standard Vision type Broken Tool Sensor is located in the ATC magazine where it automatically approves the condition of drills, taps and other single point tools. Unique single piece way-cover design, dual-supported tool-change arm and Makino spindle technology offer the base for high reliability to be used in the industry.
