Q: Is there any difference between this Pro version and Mega S?
A: The Pro version has the extra laser engraving function, a better extruder, auxiliary leveling, multi-color printing and a much better silent driver.
Q: Is the printer quiet? how does the noise level compare to other 3d printers like the prusa?
A: I have one of these and honestly its quieter then my CR10. I measured the sound level and it was between 49-51 decibels which is the equivalent of a quiet office and that was when it was printing and its stock no upgrades to the fans or drivers this printer is nice.
Q: If I’m buying this as a gift for a beginner to fabricate small items, is there anything else I should purchase to accompany it?
A: This is an excellent printer for beginners. It actually includes everything you need to get started, including a spool of PLA filament, but I would also recommend buying an additional spool or two of PLA filament
Q: Specifications state, supported materials: pla, tpu, etc. what other filament types does it support besides pla and tpu?
A: You’re really constrained by your max temperature which is around 260 to 275 C. Functionally, I’d keep it below 250 to avoid degrading the PTFE tubing. That temperature will allow you to print most of the common materials like petg and abs on top of what is listed.
